An 1890’s black moire silk elbow length cape, with fitted shoulders in good condition. There is some black cotton lace that has been added to the neckline, as well as some reinforcement to the collar lining due to fraying.
The hem is scalloped, likely cut with a rotary punch. The cape is two layers, with some black waxed cotton for lining. It is gathered around the shoulders for shaping as shown. It closes at the neck with a hook and eye.
