1890's Full Length Black Brocade Opera Cape with Fitted Back
An 1890's black ankle length opera cape with gathered shoulders and a fitted back. It looks like it had trim along the front edge which has since been removed. The inner front lapels are quilted. The button in front is decorative.
The condition is very good, the cotton lining on the collar has been replaced as there was previous damage. There is some rust staining and wear to the hooks and eyes down the front. There is a small pocket in the front as shown. There is also a waist tape inside, for fit.
The cape is shown on a modern size 0, but likely fits most sizes especially if worn open.
