1880's Victorian Black Straw And Ostrich Feather Hat
An 1880’s black straw hat, trimmed with black silk satin, celluloid beads and a large dyed feather. The silk trim is ruched to accent the beads, and the stripes on one corner is from the selvage of the fabric. The hat is lined with black cotton, and gathered. There is cardstock on the inside to stiffen the hat.
The hat’s shaping has a notch in back, likely to fit a bun or other hairstyle in the back of the head.
It is shown on a size 7 hat form, and fits size 6.75-7.
