Recovered Edwardian Yellow Gold Dupioni Silk Parasol with Black Lace Trimmed Self Fabric Ruffle
An Edwardian parasol frame, which has a light finish natural wooden handle, and with a restored silk and lace cover. The silk is a slubbed dupioni, in a light golden yellow. The black lace is synthetic, and vintage. The ruffle is finished with white cotton on the underside. The canopy hem is finished with vintage synthetic bias binding, due to the fabric’s tendency to fray.
The strap secures with an antique Czech style black glass button. The original tassle is still attached, although is quite faded.
It has eight ribs, which measure 22” in length. The parasol is 33” in length end to end.
